Employee Benefits

Medical Insurance
Our company takes part in the Southern Cross Medical Care Society scheme where discounted medical insurance is available for all employees and their families. Payment deductions through your salary or wages may also be arranged.

Fitness Centre
The fitness Centre provides an excellent health management programme for all Auckland employees at substantially reduced rates.

Fletcher Building Welfare Fund
The purpose of the Welfare Fund is to help employees and their dependent family members in the event of an unexpected loss resulting from death, disability or personal hardship as a result of unexpected medical misfortune.

All permanent, full or part-time Fletcher Building employees who are not part of a company-subsidised superannuation scheme are eligible to apply to the Welfare Fund. Your eligibility is automatic when you start employment with a Fletcher Building company. There are no joining forms to complete or money required to be paid.

Grants from the Welfare Fund are approved at the discretion of the Trustees.

Credit Union
The credit union is similar to a bank in that it provides personal financial services to employees. There are many types of different accounts available to credit union members. These include:

• Loan Provider Account
• Regular Saving Account
• Christmas Club Account
• Term Investments
• Money Management Account

The credit union has competitive rates and does not charge any fees.

Long Service Leave
Fletcher Building generously recognises an employee’s continuous long service and contribution to the company. All employees of the Fletcher Building Group of companies, (not otherwise covered by specific long service leave provisions in their employment contracts) are entitled to 20 days long service leave every five years after completing ten years’ continuous service with the Group.

Long service leave is in additional to employees’ annual leave entitlement.

Long Service Awards
Fletcher Building Group of companies recognises the anniversary of 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 years’ continuous service within the Group by giving the employee a Long Service Award. For each anniversary, (except 5 years – when a certificate is presented) the employee is entitled to choose a gift or gifts up to a certain value.

Parental Benefit
The company recognises a birth or adoption of a child as an important event in an employee’s life. Fletcher Aluminium provides a parental benefit of $100 for each child born or adopted by an employee who has completed at least three months continuous service.

Company Sponsored Events
Fletcher Aluminium is committed to assisting charitable organisations through events such as fun runs and triathlons. In Auckland the company participates in annual events such as the Round the Bays fun run. Or you can always try out for one of the soccer, netball, touch rugby or rugby teams competing in the annual Fletcher 7’s Tournament.
